Is this mistake preventing you from losing weight?

Smoothies can be a fantastic way to get in nutrients. They’re quick and efficient, but if you’re having trouble losing weight, you might want to evaluate if you’re trying to cram too much in.

It’s easy to overfill our smoothies with too many good things - fruits, nuts, nut butters, chia seeds, flax seeds...suddenly you’re sipping double the calories than you would eat.

A rule of thumb is to only use as much food as you would eat if you had to chew it. The time it takes to chew food helps our bodies regulate how full we’re getting.

My strategy: 2 whole fruits or up to 1.5 cups chopped fruit, either flax OR chia, and keep the nut butter to 2 tbsp max. Always try to throw in a leafy green. These are “free” calories and jam packed with nutrients.

And finally, don’t gulp! Sip your smoothie slowly to give your stomach time to register fullness.
